opening ceremonies
So like, here I am writing my blog on notepad... waiting for the swear-in page to load. What is up with my internet connection? It keeps dieing. Sometimes disabling then enabling my network connection helps... but sometimes it doesn't. Like now. How did I even get this blog up? Everyone else's internet is fine!
Misato and Kiyo stopped by today to ask us if we wanted to go to dinner with them at the dining hall. I wanted to show them my blog then, but noooo my connection died. Feh.
Today was opening ceremony. First we had to dress up nice in shoes and dress shirts and ties. It sucked. I hate dressing up. Sure, I accept that sometimes its nessacary and its good to look nice. But they can't make dress clothes any less comfortable. And those dress shoes... I hate them so much.
After a boring or maybe just non-understandable-by-baka-gaijin like me in Japanese by the TUFS president, we went to another ceremony at our dorm building. A bunch of important people like... cut this ribbon or something. Cause the dorm building was new. Yeah. But there was free food after. Well worth the price of choking myself with a tie for! Maybe... I had to loosen it so I could swallow.
I'm hopefully going to the bank with Misato on monday morning. Cause she doesn't get out of class until after the bank closes at 3. Um. Ok. Whatever happened to Japanese customer convenience. What kind of bank is only open 5 hours on weekdays only. Slackers.
Class shcedules are... confusing. Some classes are only one day a week... others several times a day. Do I go to both level 200 classes tomorrow? Or was I placed in 300? How many credits am I taking exactly? Why is the schedule in Japanese? Which classes are in English? Why are my friends saying that one of the classes they pre-visited had a teacher who had to use English, Japanese AND Chinese to explain something? (not 'or'... "and") Why is the dining hall never open when I want it to be? Why are the bugs here so loud? Why, at all the entrance ceremonies I've been too, there were only Ryuugakusei (foriegn students) but the people there only spoke in Japanese? Did I miss anything? where are my pants?
Tomorrow I start Japanese class. Apparantly. I think I do... I'm gonna look for my pants too.
Oh, and anyone on an IM or something trying to contact me... my internet is about as lively as a post-squirrel on the interstate during rush hour.
... what horrible imagery. Sorry squirrel...
Also, I'm glad I brought computer controllers and Ragnarok Battle Offline. Friends love it.
I know. In a foreign country and just playing video games... I AM getting out more and seeing new people. I am. I may not enjoy half the places I go to, but I am getting out more.
That's it for now. Catch you on the flip side. Like a pancake.
Oh. What am I doing. PICS! Here's hoping my upload worked!

Kiyo looks cool in shades, eh?

Maybe you should see if there is a computer help desk or something. Maybe there is only a setting you have to change on your computer.
