Meet The Characters

So, like! My internet is working right now! WOO!
Temporarily. Maybe.
Watch me download an email or something and destroy all my bandwitdh...
Anyway, our Japanese class thats 3 hours a day, 5 days a week has 2 alternating teachers. I met the 2nd teacher today... the kanji teacher! Sweet! So what if he... doesn't know any English at all... he rocks. So far.
So like today is some of party at the dining hall that everyone is going to. Gonna cost me 500 yen though...
I'll edit the blog later and tell you how it goes.
Edit: see the post after this. I decided it should stand alone.

A friend mailed me and said I didn't introduce my blog and friends very well. So... here we go!!!

First: my blog. I am a Ryuugakusei, a foriegn exchange student. I lived in RI, went to SUNY Albany in NY, majored in Japanese, and applied to study abroad. Now I'm daily recording my experiences in a blog. Yup. That's. About it. Now for some friends I met!

Danny and Corey
Danny (left) and Corey (not left) and I are the only people from SUNY Albany (or even America, for that matter!) who are ISEP students at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies this year. Seriously. The only americans. We've seen some Italian, French, Spanish, English, and Cadadian people... but we're the only Americans.
They're both really tech savvy, and well... know how to hack at video games, much to my dismay.
They are also drinkers. They keep trying to get me to drink, but forget it. Ain't happening!
Like me, they both studied Japanese for 2 years at SUNY and we have about equal skills. I may be able to talk in Japanese a little better than them, but they have taken Chinese before and are much better with Kanji than me.
They enjoy calling me weird names like Seen and... Sean Nicholas?

Kiyo
Corey's tutor, Kiyo. He's a cool guy. He has shown us around a couple places like Shinjuku. He has pretty good English too.

Misato Kadoi
My tutor. Misato studies Polish as a foriegn language. She has helped me around a lot, like getting from the airport, choosing my cell phone, and showing me to the city hall. Misato is a really helpful person.
She doesn't have a picture. She doesn't like getting her picture taken.

Asuka
A friend of Misato's. She went with us to a couple places. She studies Polish with Misato.

Buddha, Ninjin, and Tacospin
Three vital components of my room. Ninjin is a very comfortable blanket I bought on sale for only 1600 yen. (Ninjin is Japanese for carrot.) See the little carrots on it? Yeah. That's where it gets its name from. I am SO smart.
Tacospin is my Nintendo DS. It got its name from a squirrel my grandmother used to feed. The squirrel ate taco shells and spun them as he ate them. My grandmother says me tapping the buttons on the DS sounds like the squirrel eating the taco.
Buddha provides 17 essential vitamins and minerals and is part of this complete state of zen. Zen Flakes: filling and existant! (maybe)
