Getting Ready
I am recreating my account. It seems I was having problems signing in because I was using the Beta. I had to create a normal account to join in other bloggers, such as my Japanese teacher.
Right now, I have 2 "blogger friends" my Japanese teacher's blog is http://mmorimura.blogspot.com/ which is a message board for Japanese students Japanese 4 and up, and
cyrunner.blogspot.com is my father's traditional RPG blog.
Here is my only entry from my old blog, copied over:

So, I decided to start a blog of my trip a month before I start. I've just gotten my new laptop to do it on too.
Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Sean Maloney. I live in Rhode Island. I studied Japanese at Classical High School for 4 years under Morimura-sensei.
I then went to the State University At Albany in New York. (SUNY at Albany)
I studied courses 102, 201, and 202 under Mano-sensei.
That was my first 2 years of college. Now, for my 3rd, I am studying abroad!
I will be going to Tokyo University of Foriegn Studies.
I am going to study there from October 3rd - July 31. 2006-2007.
Then is on more year at SUNY... then I intend to go on the Jet Programme after I graduate.
Thats all my plans, now a little about me.
If you are reading this, you are probably either a friend of mine I told my blog about, or you are one of my teachers, family, or just someone browsing blogs. So except for that last person, you probably already know me, so I don't need to talk about myself much.
I'll just say that ever since I decided to try out Japanese in High School, I have never regretted it. I am so happy it was available, and Morimura-sensei was a great teacher. I was happy to continue with Mano-sensei as well.
Now I hope that someday I will be a succesful teacher in Japan, or a Bussiness translator. Maybe both. I shall find out as my life goes on...
Once I get to Japan, I intend to Blog here everyday. I don't want to forget a single experience.
My next update will be the day before I leave, and then the day I'm there! I can't wait to go!
So ends this blog.
